Zak Williams

Chief Marketing Officer, Defoncé

Zak Williams is a native San Franciscan who is deeply passionate about developing best-in-class products and experiences to contribute to a safe, sustainable, and equitable cannabis industry. He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer of edibles company Défoncé and is an investor in cannabis companies like Défoncé, Beboe, and Bloom Farms who cares deeply about how the development of great storytelling, operational excellence, and strong organizational cultures makes a difference in differentiating world-class brands from good ones.

Formerly, Zak was the Chief Operating Officer of the media and restaurant recommendation platform Crossing Minds, the Director of Business Development for media company Condé Nast, the marketing and audience development lead for gaming and media platform N3TWORK, and the Founding Editor of the James Beard Award-nominated restaurant guide Always Hungry NY. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Linguistics from New York University. Zak is a board member of mental health awareness non-profit Bring Change 2 Mind and the Yerba Buena Center of the Arts where he focuses on guiding the organizations' strategy and business development initiatives.
