David Hazan

Founder DLH Marketing Producer of the GrowUp Cannabis Hackathon, Head of Partnerships, O’ Cannabiz

David Hazan is a New York based strategic marketing consultant who has previously held senior executive positions at major entertainment, tech and media companies, including Warner Music Group, Universal Music, MTV Networks, Wind-up, Putumayo, and The Orchard.

More recently he has consulted more than two dozen digital and festival focused clients. Since entering the cannabis space in 2017, David has been responsible for International Partnerships and Marketing for his O’ Cannabiz conference clients in Toronto and Vancouver. In the past 9 months he has moderated a number of cannabis panels at leading conferences including the New Opportunities in Cannabis panel at Music Biz; the High Finance investment panel at O’ Cannabiz; and The Rise of Cannabis Centered Festivals at XLIVE among others.

In September 2018, he produced Canada’s first major cannabis hackathon at the GrowUp conference in Toronto where coders, engineers and designers competed overnight to develop tech-based solutions to industry challenges.

David is also working with The Trough, a content, media, and consulting company, collaborating with a number of industry leaders including Green Flower Media for an upcoming cannabis education OTT initiative. David originally began his career as a musician before starting his own Toronto-based entertainment marketing agency, Music Matters. He lives in Nyack, NY with his wife and two sons.
